What to Expect

For an initial appointment you will be sent a consultation form which has to be completed and returned 12-24 hours before your appointment.  It may be necessary to contact you prior to your appointment however this won’t always be the case.  The information gathered is to help me assess the most suitable treatment method based on your current health and any underlying health conditions.

An assessment of symptoms and how it affects your physical life together with a visual and physical assessment will help me plan and suggest the best course of action.

A treatment may involve a number of treatment methods such as Orthopaedic Massage & Manipulation, Advanced Sports Remedial Therapy, Orthopaedic Dry Needling, Remedial Massage, Kinesio Taping amongst others.  Exercises and stretches may be given to support you during your recovery period and beyond.

Treatment Methods

A combination of treatment methods may be used to address a problem.  These may include one or all of the methods described below but this is not an exhaustive list.

Orthopaedic Massage and Manipulation

This is a form of manual therapy which facilitates normal movement of a joint by restoring correct anatomical alignment. When correct alignment is restored there is an interruption of the painful inflammatory cycle which can lead to improved musculoskeletal and neurological balance.

Advance Remedial Massage

This form of massage utilises advanced techniques that go beyond the traditional massage strokes. These include Acupressure & Trigger Point therapy, deep myofascial release, neuromuscular and advance stretching techniques in order to restore anatomical balance.

Orthopaedic Dry Needling

Also known as Medical Acupuncture uses an in-depth knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology whilst incorporating the use of traditional acupuncture needles. A thin monifilament needle penetrates the skin and treats underlyiung muyscular trigger points for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
